Resonance ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Avant Concepts LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our service at resonancematch.ai and app.resonancematch.ai.

By using Resonance, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: email address, name, age, gender, and gender preference
• Profile essays: the five essays you write as part of onboarding
• Photos and videos: media you upload to your profile
• Location: zip code used to determine your geographic area
• Messages: conversations you have with your matches
• Payment information: processed by Stripe — we do not store your card details

Information collected automatically

• Usage data (pages visited, features used, match interactions)
• Device and browser information
• IP address and approximate location

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To power AI-based compatibility matching using your essays and extracted traits
• To deliver daily match results
• To facilitate messaging between matched users
• To process payments via Stripe
• To send transactional emails (match notifications, account activity)
• To moderate content for safety and policy compliance
• To improve our matching algorithm using aggregated, anonymized signals

3. AI Processing of Your Essays

Your essays are analyzed by an AI model (Anthropic Claude) to extract personality traits used for compatibility scoring. This analysis produces a trait profile that informs your matches. Your essays are not used to train third-party AI models. Trait profiles are stored securely and are not shared with other users in raw form.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Supabase: database and authentication infrastructure
• Anthropic: AI processing of essays for trait extraction and compatibility scoring
• Stripe: payment processing for Resonance+ subscriptions
• Resend: transactional email delivery
• Vercel: hosting and edge infrastructure

All third-party providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@resonancematch.ai. Some data may be retained for legal compliance for up to 90 days after deletion.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Export your data in a portable format

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), row-level security in our database, and access controls limiting who can view your information. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Children's Privacy

Resonance is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice within the app. Your continued use of Resonance after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
